Boys and girls ages 9-14 can test their basketball skills at free Spurs 2ball skills competitions during February 2009. Spurs 2ball is a game in which two-person teams shoot for 60 seconds from numbered spots on the floor. If a shot is made, the team receives points based on the value of the spot. Preliminary Competitions will be held in area gyms between February 7th and February 22nd. Semi-Final Competitions for the winners of the preliminary competitions will take place on Saturday morning, February 28th at the Lou Hamilton Community Center in NE San Antonio. Championship Competition featuring the two highest scoring semi-final teams in each age/gender category will be held on Tuesday, March 10th prior to the Spurs vs Bobcats game in the AT&T Center.

Age groupings are 9-11 and 12-14. Separate competitions are held for boys and girls. A player's age is based on their age as of the date they compete in the preliminary competition. A player may play up, an 11 year old may team with a 12 year old and compete in the 12-14 group.

The following sites will hold preliminary competitions on the dates and times indicated. Kids 9-14 interested in competing should find a partner of their same gender and age grouping and simply show up at the site of your choice. No advance registration is necessary. Highest scoring teams will be announced at the end of each preliminary site competitions.
